To throw a Hollywood party theme, you need to decide early on what kind of party it is going to be. A Hollywood party can be broken down into a theme from a particular movie, movie characters or perhaps even an Oscar night.

Once you have decided upon a theme, it will be much more convincing if you are careful to exclude all other themes from your party planning.

Get some cardboard for your invitations and cut out some Oscar statue shapes. Address them to the VIP.

The costumes will be dependant upon which sub theme you have gone for. Your guests will be dressing up as famous movie characters, or if you’re hosting an Oscars party, it will be a black tie event with the ladies wearing their very best red or black cocktail dress.

Perhaps you can have an award for the best and worst costumes. Get some Oscar statues for this.

Have a red carpet leading up to your entrance. When inside, your guests could be greeted in front of a Hollywood backdrop where a photographer takes a glamour shot.

Get some props for your Hollywood party theme such as; movie posters, props such as a Walther PPK, Oscar statues, a directors chair and famous street signs such as Broadway, Hollywood Boulevard and of course the famous Hollywood sign.

For your music, consider the obvious classics such as Singing in the Rain and Stardust. You could also play the soundtrack from your favorite movie.

Consider hiring a waiter to serve the food. Simple finger buffet food will suffice.

The obvious choice of drink for your Hollywood “A listers” would be champagne. Place it in coolers around the room and have some of your props nearby. Your waiter could of course also serve the drinks!
